THE LOST SOULS
Installation
FROGZ is a creative exploration of cars as more than machines—viewing them as cultural artifacts, carriers of memory, and symbols of human connection. Through photography, print, and sculpture, the project brings to life the emotional narratives tied to vehicles, blending raw aesthetics with thoughtful storytelling.
Double-sided Concertina — 2024
At its core is a handcrafted double-sided concertina print. One side captures the raw decay of cars in scrapyards, while the other depicts vehicles under covers, symbolizing care and preservation. Printed on metallic paper, the piece invites interaction, with panels designed to be torn and refolded, echoing themes of transformation and renewal.
A VW Golf dashboard from a Wembley scrapyard serves as the print's housing, bridging concept and object. This model, tied to personal history, emphasizes the intimate connections cars foster. The dashboard was meticulously reconstructed and personalized with bespoke elements like a mirrored vinyl speedometer, adding layers of meaning.
FROGZ pushes boundaries in art direction, celebrating the tactile nature of print and the emotional depth of objects. It challenges viewers to reconsider their relationship with everyday artifacts, turning the familiar into something deeply personal and profoundly human.
Guillotine Cut Leaflet — 2024
To conclude the project, I created a printed element that would deepen the connection to my theme and provide insight into why I feel so strongly about cars. My goal was to inspire people to rediscover print.
Inside, I shared personal stories about my connection to cars, written over a photo of a car interior I took before starting FROGZ. This was a natural progression from the first print, where viewers could only glimpse cars under covers. Now, with interior images, the viewer can peer deeper, almost like seeing inside me. The car interior becomes a metaphor for personal revelation, symbolizing the emotional layers of my connection to cars.
I also included a photo of the final installation, offering viewers a tangible keepsake from the project.
